Pastor Terrance Cheatham

Pastor Cheatham is a man after God’s own heart, who is known by many as a leader of leaders, visionary, and a provacative intentional thinker. He serves as Founder and Senior Pastor of AWT. Raised up in Edgefield, SC by his great-grandmother, the late Mrs. Orlena Allen until the tender age of 7 years old, he then moved to Fayetteville, NC where he joined his mother and step father who served in the Armed Forces. Upon arrival, he proceeded to move around the world with his military parents before settling down in Atlanta, GA. where he completed his highschool years.

Seeing different parts of the world and its many different cultures at such an early age granted Pastor Cheatham the ability to comfortably and effectively communicate with all people from all types of backgrounds. Blessed with a bold and uncompromising yet relevant delivery, Pastor Cheatham fervently elucidates the Word of God by his utter dependence on the Lord, a passion for souls, and his determination to hold fast to integrity. Some Would described his ministry as "putting you in the text, until the text gets in you". The refined, unmasked and unpretentious preaching and teaching style of Pastor Cheatham can and will transform your life.

Pastor Cheatham was born on March 6, 1975 to Effort L. Cheatham and Deborah Brower. As God would have it, he accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost at 25 years of age under the anointed ministry and covering of Bishop Dexster Speller and has not looked back! The evidence of God’s hand upon his life was witnessed early in his walk with the Lord.

Pastor Cheatham quickly became a servant of the Lord, serving as Head Deacon for 2 years, leading auxiliaries, outreach programs, teaching bible studies and Sunday School Classes, Armor Bearer, and later being elevated to Assistant Pastor. Within 2 years Pastor Cheatham was called to the ministry and ordained by Bishop Dexster Speller (House Of Faith Church Of Nations International). As a result of his humble submission to the guidance and mentorship of Bishop Speller and 1st Lady Speller, God raised him up to take on his first Pastorate at the age of 28 at House of Faith Apostolic Church. He pastored this work for 3 years, and while yet in the midst of his House of Faith assignment, God spoke concerning Abiding Word Tabernacle. Upon completion of Pastor Cheatham’s first assignment, he accepted the call from one thing, and humbly embraced the transition into the next thing!

As a result of Pastor Cheatham’s obedience and passionate love for God and His people, God has been able to birth this great work that has been given a holistic mandate that reaches far beyond cultural and denominational barriers and makes essential the need to minister to the whole man (body, soul, and spirit) that we as Spirit-filled believers will be a true reflection of what "kingdom" really is! This powerful man of God has been anointed to preach a 1st Century truth to a 21st Century world, yet maintaining a healthy balanced zeal for winning the lost and bringing souls home to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Pastor Cheatham has served on numerous boards and currently serves as board member of the (IDA), Industrial Development Authority for the City of Glennville located in Southeast Georgia.

Pastor Terrance Cheatham is honored to be married to 1st Lady Erica L. Cheatham. They have been blessed with three children: Jalen, Gerniah and Noah. As a team, they are pioneers together in Kingdom ministry.

Affectionately known as "Lady C" and described by some as an expert "multi-tasker", Minister Erica L. Cheatham is co-founder of Abiding Word Tabernacle. This awesome woman of God was born and raised in Arlington, Georgia on July 8, 1976. Being raised in a single-parent home, she learned early in life not to allow unfair circumstances to determine her future.

Abiding Word Tabernacle is a nontraditional, nondenominational, multicultural church. We are a young church that possesses an old spirit which enables us to minister to all age groups without anyone feeling left out or alienated.
