"Treasures in Vessels of Clay"
Hello,I want to take this golden opportunity to talk to that special part of you today. Yes, you know that part that thinks your value isn’t high and there’s nothing good that can come out of you. If you want to over look this part because it doesn’t apply to you by all means do, but you might want to keep reading, I’m sure you will find yourself in here somewhere.
Are you the life of the party most of the time, but when you’re alone you feel like there’s no life in you? That’s called masking, which is when you cover your true feelings. The only problem is the covering doesn’t last long. Have you ever hyped up who you were, where you came from, or what you can do? Listen, that stuff is surface. I want to talk to the real you, because some of you are married and still trying to hype yourself up.
Look, God wants to bless you, not the clone you made up. Pull off the covers and try being real for once. Trust me; I’m not just talking to women, because some of you men are dealing with this also. It all boils down to you having low self-esteem. It’s when you have little to no confidence and satisfaction in yourself.
Now how do you get rid of low self-esteem? By realizing that God paid the highest price to buy you back. (St. John 3:16; I Corinthians 6:19-20). You need to understand that you’re human, but you are a vessel full of treasure. Let me explain the meaning that is behind treasures in vessels of clay. God made you who you are and what you’ve gone through was only part of the process to your expected end. Remember God see’s your end while you are yet at your beginning. Treasures are wealth stored up or held in reserve, something of great value; to keep as precious; cherish; appreciate. Vessel is a person held to be the recipient of a quality (as grace). Clay is finely divided soil consisting largely of such clay; the mortal human body. The excellence of God is contained in the simplicity of earthen vessels to His glory. The bible say’s we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
We can’t try to make things happen or be a new person without God. You doing it alone is only temporary. You have to know that God is the potter and you are the clay. He knows just how to hold you, turn you, and mold you so that you come out complete at your expected end. If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; Behold, all things are become new. This means you don’t have to rewrite your past, present or future, because of pain, guilt or shame; with God he transforms you and your life through his power and your life becomes a testimony to save, heal and deliver others. Once you’re truly delivered from something it not hard to share it with someone else. The shame, hurt, guilt and pain become praise to God. The Spirit of God within the body of a person establishes a new purpose and meaning for the individual. Jesus Christ consecrates our vessel, which previously was bound for destruction. How magnificent to understand that the eternal treasure of the Almighty has been invested in the flesh of weak humanity!
Human vessels of clay contain the consecrating presence of God. Mankind is not valuable because of his physical being; rather he is inherently valuable because God breathed life into Adam. When he did, he placed an eternal treasure in the weakness of human flesh. You have to speak life to the treasure in you. You are the head and not the tail; above and not beneath; a lender and not a borrower. You have to know that all things are possible with God. (Read Matt 19: 26; Mk 14:36 and Luke 18:27).
The presence of Jesus Christ in the hearts of men and women initiates a new and living relationship. The container that was previously of little worth suddenly receives an eternal purpose. Once destined for destruction is now headed for heaven. Rom 8: 28 says all things work together for the good of them that love God. Don’t look to dress up the outer so much, that you miss having the inner right.
