What to Expect

Abiding Word Tabernacle is a nondenominational, nontraditional, multicultural church. We are a young church that possesses an old spirit which enables us to minister to all age groups without anyone feeling left out or alienated.

We are a ministry that doesn’t allow protocol to establish our services, but rather the Holy Spirit to establish protocol. We are sensitive to the fact that there are individuals who attend our services who have "specific" needs and unless the Holy Spirit is allowed to conduct the service and given free course, those "specific" needs will not be met. We firmly believe that when "needs" (not "wants" but "needs") stop being met, that is the moment we must cease to call ourselves a ministry.

At AWT we believe that the Holy Spirit must be the "Special Guest" at each service for it is He alone that destroys yokes and sets men free ( Isaiah 10:27; 2 Corinthians 3:17). Our mandate here at AWT is to love, train, and equip the believer through the anointed teaching of God’s Word to the extent each believer develops a personal revelation of their God-given talents, gifts and purposes; not only for "church work" but also for "life work". It is for this reason we are passionate about helping individuals reconstruct their damaged or perhaps even broken relationship with their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. After all, everything in your "life", receives the overflow of your relationship with Him!

Pastor Terrance Cheatham

Pastor Cheatham is a man after God’s own heart, who is known by many as a leader of leaders, visionary, and a provacative intentional thinker. He serves as Founder and Senior Pastor of AWT. Raised up in Edgefield, SC by his great-grandmother, the late Mrs. Orlena Allen until the tender age of 7 years old, he then moved to Fayetteville, NC where he joined his mother and step father who served in the Armed Forces.

Minister Erica L. Cheatham

Affectionately known as "Lady C" and described by some as an expert "multi-tasker", Minister Erica L. Cheatham is co-founder of Abiding Word Tabernacle. This awesome woman of God was born and raised in Arlington, Georgia on July 8, 1976. Being raised in a single-parent home, she learned early in life not to allow unfair circumstances to determine her future.
